The walking tour focuses on the Italian history of the old neighborhood that became known as: Little Italy, &anp; the newly evolving neighborhood of: NoLIta. Also information about the architecture & history of remaining landmark institutional, religious & residential buildings that help us relate to the neighborhoods past along with interesting pictures & stories that also help join us with the neighborhoods' past.

This Walking Tour of Little Italy's Past Features:

A walk through the old Little Italy neighborhood that was roughly bounded by: Bleecker St., Lafayette St., Mosco St. & the Bowery; & the newly evolving NoLIta (northern Little Italy) gradually developing in the area surrounding the old St. Patrick's Cathedral. Going back to the early 19th century there was a middle income, ethnically mixed, artisan community with hundreds of 1 family (2 story) Federal styled homes that spread across the area - we will see a landmark survivor of one of the Federal style homes from 1817.

The tour will include 9 New York City landmarks & 7 national landmarks & much more
